Agnes Water
It is quite a small town and apart from the beach there is not much to see. Apparently this is a good spot for snorkelling but I will see loads of fish in the Whitsundays and Cairns and so I pointed my attention toward something else.
Beach in Agnes Water
My room mate in Hervey Bay recommended taking a tour on a motorcycle in Agnes Water. It was $55 for a 3 hour ride and since I almost never rode a bike I figured it would be great fun and didn’t get disappointed. We got picked up at 14:00h and after putting on your sunnies, helmet and leather jacket we were good to go. After a short instruction it was less complicated than I had expected. Just some balance and coordination needed but you had it figured after some minutes. The guides took it slow and everyone was comfy with their bikes after a short while and so overtaking was permitted.
The bikes were going about 90km/h and the streets are wide enough to fit 3 bikes on one lane. Great fun cruising in this scenic land with lots of wallabies on the way.
Wallabies in the wild
My bike had already 32k km on the speed-o-meter and obviously it was well tuned since it was a bit faster than the others. So looking at the landscape and letting the other guys eat my fumes was absolutely great.
wicked ride
We stopped in 1770 for some wedges and looked at the sun to set behind the ocean.
If you are in Agnes Water you definitely have to book that tour. It is worth every penny.
I met Betty again who was on the same plane flying over from Frankfurt , what a small world it is.
